Since I have relatives in Baguio city, I guess I am able to visit most of the tourist spots in the area. Every time I go back there for a visit, I look for other places mostly cafes to try out for a change. That time we visited during the month of August last year, my aunt suggested that we try out Arca's yard cafe in Ambuklao road which they described as a cafe with a really good view.
Upon arrival at the cafe, first thing you will notice are the ethnic paintings on their walls. The main theme of the cafe focuses on the cordillera arts and sculptures which I really admire for it shows that the owners are really proud of their origin.
So I ordered this carrot cake which I did not really enjoy and something new in my ears, the cloud tea which I actually enjoyed. Honestly, we did not enjoy their pastries and the only thing we appreciated were their fries with cheese dip.
But I think my cousin Khalil did enjoy his strawberry milkshake, being able to smile like this.
and then I tried my portrait photography skills on Ate Kathleen :)
We just decided to around the cafe and take pictures. Unfortunately it was really foggy that time so we were not able to really see the view that they were proud about.
Day 2
Before going back to Manila, Ate kathleen and I visited Ililikha artist village for lunch. We tried this one store selling burgers. Surprisingly, their burgers tasted so good considering their affordable price. This one became my favorite eat out place in Baguio City.

I totally love the artistic vibe of the place. Their floor mosaics are so lovely and colorful. Those who want to try brrgrr, just visit Ililikha Artist village located in assumption road. It's within a school zone I think since I noticed that it is mostly frequented by students and just a short walk from session road.
Last year during the month of August, I was invited by my former officemates in Comelec to join their team building in Bataan. They told me that they were going to Anvaya cove and knowing that it is a "member only" luxury resort, I decided to join them.
When we arrived at the resort, we immediately proceeded to their restaurant for a buffet lunch. Having a view of the resort, I can say that this one is really high class but as for the food, I'm not really a fan. We also have a very cute company that trip, Sir Peng brought her daughter Penny and we fell in love with her cuteness.

After lunch, we checked in on our rooms and decided to take pictures again before deciding on which activity we will be doing that afternoon. Since the resort is really vast, so there are trolleys that you can ride to go to your rooms.
Then we all decided to go for snorkeling that afternoon we changed into our swim clothes and headed to the dock area where we will be riding the resort's speedboat. Well the speedboat ride itself was already exciting since the boatman made it that way. The first time he really tilted the speedboat on one side, we were so surprised that we all screamed then it became enjoyable afterwards. Maybe because we just got used to it.
Next we went swimming while some opted to play beach volleyball. We waited until sunset before changing our clothes for dinner.
We had an early night so that we can wake up early the next day. Some opted to go for a banana boat ride while some of us just decided to relax and take more pictures around the resort.
Though the beach area is not that outstanding, Anvaya cove made the interior and exterior of their resort compensate on that matter. They made their facilities and pool area their strongest points. Still it was a really fun two day trip. What made it really enjoyable were the fun people I was with.
When I worked with RDC before, we held the annual team building activity in Tanay Adventure Camp.
It was a one day activity wherein the employees where divided into groups, competing with each other in finishing an obstacle course. The venue also offers other activities like zip line, wall climbing and swimming.
After we were done with most activities, all were given a choice for a side trip, others chose the Daranak
falls while I opted to try and explore Calinawan cave. Ready and excited for the spelunking, I also brought my own flashlight.
The entrance of the Calinawan cave looks too small and deep that's why I was hesitant at first to enter but then as you go down a bit of steep steps, the inside of the cave is surprisingly wide and naturally lit up by sunlight.
Calinawan cave has been a favorite shooting spot and was shown in several local movies due to the fact that it is just near manila. The community earned more income because of this but unfortunately, it also brought damages on the cave.
Listening to our tour guide, this cave system is said to be connected somewhere in Montalban and was used as a hideout of Filipino revolutionaries before. It's just that no one has been able to really explore the whole cave system. Later on, the guide led us into the deeper and darker part of the cave.
If you're looking for a short, challenging and fun day tour, you should consider the town of Tanay for there are still many spots waiting to be discovered. Be one with nature!

The glittery part on the picture above are real stalactites so we were advised not to touch it. There's also this part of the cave where in we need to bend lower to be able to pass through.
It was just a short exploration and I think we only did the first and second layer of the cave. I find the spelunking too easy maybe because I kind of compared it to my first one in Ugong rock adventure where we even need to use a harness on some parts. Nevertheless, it was fun since Hazel and Mimie were also with me.
