Based on the popular manga, Oh Ha Ni is a clumsy student who falls for the perfectionist, Baek Seung Jo. However, Seung Jo is indifferent towards her and rejects her love. When Ha Ni's house collapses, she and her father moves into his long-time friend's house. It turns out that Seung Jo is the friend's son and Ha Ni is given the opportunity to be near the guy she loves. Will she be able to move Seung Jo's heart?

For those who are familiar or who have already watched the popular taiwanese drama "It started with a kiss", you know the plot of this drama I'm sure. This korean drama is also adapted from the manga "Itazura na kiss". At the first 2 episodes, I was a bit bored since I already know the story by heart. I just decided to watch this one because of lacking something to do but then I fell in love with this drama. After episode 2, the drama went better. Yes, the events in the story is almost the same with the manga and the taiwanese version, but they gave it a nice korean twist and I loved it. They changed some things but it was okay and they made the story faster. Though there are some things that I was expecting to see in this drama but I haven't, well I forgive the production staff since they had to squeeze the story in a total of 16 episodes only.
When I watched It started with a kiss before, Ariel Lin became a favorite actress of mine. That drama and Ariel Lin was also the reason that I started becoming addicted to taiwanese dramas as well as other asian dramas. But I prefer Jung So Min's potrayal of Ha Ni here than Ariel's portrayal of Xiang Qin. After watching Jung so min for a long time, I can't help finding her so cute. It's as if this role was made for her and I find her to be a really good actress specifically at the latter part of the drama. Watch it so that you'll know what I mean :) Also her character is a bit less stupid than Xiang Qin's character (taiwanese version). As for Kim Hyun Joong, I wasn't really fond of him specifically in Boys over flowers but in this drama, he won my admiration. The role suited him though he's a bit more of a jerk than in Joe Cheng's portrayal of Zhi Shu (taiwanese version). But he have some sweet moments too so that made up for it. I would just like to add that his hair here looks good compared to the one he had in boys over flowers (he looked too girly there).
The second male lead in this drama was okay though I want to comment about the other girl who's like the main rival of Ha Ni in Seung jo's heart. That role was portrayed by Tiffany Hsu in the taiwanese version and she's just so pretty. The korean actress who played that role in this drama is also pretty but Tiffany Hsu is way more pretty than her. Though the korean actress did better than tiffany when it comes to acting. I really love the actress who played Baek Seung Jo's mom here. She's so fashionable and I think that she looks a bit young to be seung jo's mom but still, I love her. She's one of my favorite characters here in playful kiss. Let's go now to Ha Ni's friends. I find them so supportive of Ha Ni and though they may be not bright or smart too, they have their own talents. Talents in which they really excel that made up for their lack of smartness.
Overall this drama was great! If you're looking for something light and fun to watch, well here it is Playful kiss :)
