It's been years since my hometown Marikina City started to become one of the best food trip destinations in Metro Manila. Then came lots of young budding restaurants offering different food concepts all around our city. Mostly are family owned and can be found in their home garage or front yards. One of the well known restaurants here in Marikina is Rustic Mornings by Isabelo Garden which can be found in San Roque.
It is not hard to find this restaurant despite being kinda hidden from the main street. The nearest landmark would be the Marikina Shoe Museum and Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish. The feel
and ambiance of the restaurant is truly Rustic hence the name I guess. The design can also be described as instagrammable and for sure, those who love to take pictures as well will really like
this place. One brunch weekday, I visited it with my friend Mimie.
As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will notice right away the al fresco vibe of the place. I also noticed these cute blue ceramic cat designs beside the pathway to the waiting area.
Me being a certified coffee lover, I ordered a cup of cappuccino right away. Mimie ordered a breakfast meal with hashbrown and bacon while I ordered their homemade tocino.
Well, for all breakfast feels, it wouldn't be complete without pancakes or waffles so we ordered their famous waffles. I totally love their cinnamon waffles.
So after that enjoyable lunch, we decided to take lots of pictures around the area.
I guess I will always enjoy dining here in Rustic Mornings. Their food may be a bit pricey but they offer bigger servings and delicious dishes so I can say that it is all worth it.
Mimie and I also visited my favorite milktea shop Bubbalab, though this time we visited the branch in Marikina Heights.
Yesterday, May 1 is the National labor day so Ate Hazel (Kuya Khristian's girlfriend) was able to bond with me and Ate Kathleen. So it was a lunch date for girls only :) Since it is summer time, I wore my Sunflower designed backless blouse and paired it with the black cropped pants I got from uniqlo. We decided to try the new restaurant in Lilac Street in Marikina, named Miguel and Maria. Oh well I'm guessing these are the owners name.
Miguel and Maria opens at 11 am and the interior is just simple but the wood elements made it elegant. We ordered their best sellers which are mac and cheese and the Baby back ribs. We also tried their Chili cheese fries and Paella.The Mac and cheese tasted like heaven ;). The baby back ribs is a must try! Definitely good tasting food here and attentive service. I might go back here soon.

I always pass by this new restaurant in Marikina every morning on our way to Santolan Lrt station. I thought the exterior was really nice so I asked my cousin Ate Kathleen to accompany me and try dining there. The interior is elegant and appealing! What I love about this restaurant is their theme, which is the shoe factory. Well I heard that the place was a former shoe factory so I guess that's why the owners came up with that idea.

Industriya offers a wide variety of food choices in their menu. Their pasta dishes tastes good and what I do love about it is that it wasn't that salty. As for the dessert, I am not a fan. It was just okay for me. The service was also a bit slow, well I will let it slide for they are still in the soft opening phase and there were handling 2 small events that time too. The food is a bit pricey yes but considering the taste and the ambiance of the place, it was worth it. I will definitely come back to visit this restaurant but I do hope that the service will improve by that time.
December 20, Brenda and Glenn asked me to go for a food trip in Marikina. These two are my batch mates from UST during college and yes we weren't classmates. Well thanks to twitter and constant food trips with them, we all became very close. If I want to have some adult talk, I can definitely call them :)
So first we had lunch at Mama Chit's for they were craving for some burgers. I forgot to take some photos there lol. After that we decided to go to Lilac Street, which is now a famous food trip area in my home town, Marikina City. Well Glenn wanted some cakes so we checked out the different cafes and pastry shops there then we ended up trying the crepe at Crepeman. They have different kinds of crepes, may it be sweet or just like a sandwich (with hams and stuff) and they offer milkshakes too! We just ordered crepes for Brenda was like really craving for Udderly delicious milkshakes.

Udderly delicious is one awesome place. You can make your own milkshake! Choose from soft serve, premium ice cream or frozen yogurt as your base (flavor of your choice) then choose toppings like cheesecakes bits or cookie bits and you can add fruits or liquors too. They also offer waffles, flavored fries and spicy chicken wings.
